Elizabeth Christian

Elizabeth Christian, a fourth-generation Austinite and journalism graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, heads Elizabeth Christian Public Relations, a consultancy specializing in corporate representation, public affairs and media relations.

Christian recently served as co-chair of Austinites for Our Schools, a citizens' committee that successfully passed a $369 million bond election for the Austin Independent School District--the largest bond election in the State of Texas since 1991.

She previously worked as vicepresident of communications at Public Strategies, INc., of Austin and was manager of Austin Mayor Bruce Todd's successful campaign for re-election.

She worked for more than seven years at The Los Angeles Times in a variety of capacities, including strategic planning process relations, positions as assistant Business News editor and as an editor and writer for the paper's Real Estate section. She also co-published and edited an award-winning weekly newspaper in Northern California in the mid-80's.

Christian worked as both senior vice president and media director at Carl Terzian Associates, a large corporate public relations firm in Los Angeles, and as the executive director of the Greater Ukih (Calif.) Chamber of Commerce, where she helped revitalize the Mendocino County Tourism Board.

Christian has broad expertise in media outreach and event planning, and has directed numerous national media campaigns for clients involving coordination of press tours and conferences.
